Great as a gift or as a sweet treat for your skin, this sugar scrub is moisturizing and exfoliating. It can be used on your face, neck, stomach or wherever you want your skin to be left soft and soothed. Apply to moistened skin and massage in with fingertips, rinse and enjoy your rejuvenated skin!
What you’ll need:
½ cup coconut oil
1½ – 2 cups organic cane sugar
1/2 cups quality Himalayan sea salt
4 drops Young Living Peppermint essential oil
10 drops Young Living Lavender essential oil
1-2 tsp green food coloring (make ahead, see below), optional
Natural green food colouring:
Puree 1/2 cup of fresh or frozen spinach. Boil it in 4 cups of water and then simmer for several hours. When it is concentrated, strain out the spinach—it’s the liquid you want. Add the concentrate to your recipe.
Place coconut oil in a small pot and heat on low until melted. Allow to cool slightly. Start by adding 1½ cups sugar to the oil, salt, along with the peppermint and lavender oils and optional green food coloring. Mix until ingredients are well combined and food coloring is evenly distributed. If mixture is too wet, add another ½ cup sugar until scrub is to desired consistency. Spoon scrub into air-tight containers (such as a mason jar) and decorate if desired.
Yields approx. 24 ounces or 3 half-pint (8 ounce) jars
