Recipe of the week – Lavender mint tea

Now that July has finally arrived, everyone’s lavender will be beginning to flower. That means all you foodies out there can start to use great lavender recipes using the flowers from your garden! We here at Flowers to Fragrance are excited to assist you in these endeavours with the return of our recipe of the week!

To start things out, we have a recipe for lavender tea that is as delicious as it is simple; perhaps even more so!

l-mint tea
Ingredients
1/4 cup fresh lavender buds
1 cup fresh mint leaves
4 cups water

Directions
Put the lavender buds and mint leaves into a medium sized saucepan and pour the water over them. Then, bring the water to a boil before turning the heat to low and simmer, uncovered until the tea is your desired strength of flavour. This should take between 15 and 20 minutes.

Strain out the lavender and mint, and serve hot. Alternatively, you can allow the strained tea to cool at room temperature and then serve over ice.

And that’s all! Be sure to keep an eye on our website over the summer as the recipes we post become more adventurous.
